Evening Movie, June 22, Dreamgirls


The Hillsborough Public Library will be showing Dreamgirls on Friday, June 22nd, at 7:00 pm. Starring Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy, and Jamie Foxx.

Don't miss this knockout movie musical about three girl singers who make it big in the movie industry, but along the way find that the price is sometimes too high to pay. As one critic said, "Jennifer Hudson is the kind of woman who can knock down a building just by singing at it!"

One Book New Jersey Book Discussion, July 2

The One Book New Jersey program is a fun and exciting program with its goal to bring people together by encouraging them to read and participate in discussion and other events about the same book. The adult selection for 2007 is Their Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston.

Join us on Monday, July 2nd from 7:00-8:30pm for a thought-provoking book discussion about the story of a woman's marriages and murder accusation in a small Florida town.

ESL Conversation Group, Wednesday Evenings

The English as a Second Language Conversation Group will be starting up again in July. This group is open to men and women ages 18 and older, and attendees must know at least minimal English. The group will meet Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30, beginning on July 11th. Sponsored by the Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County and the Hillsborough Public Library.

Afternoon Movie, June 11, The Queen


The Hillsborough Public Library will be showing The Queen on Monday, June 11, at 1;00PM. Starring Helen Mirren and Michael Sheen.

Watch as Academy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren transforms herself in this role of a lifetime during an intimate, revealing and sometimes humorous behind-the-scenes glimpse at the interaction between Her Majesty Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Tony Blair following the death of Princess Diana. The two struggle to reach a compromise between what was a private tragedy for the Royal Family and the public's demand for an overt display of mourning.

The Bottom Line is Effectiveness, June 12. Follow-Up to the January ADHD 7 Learning Disorders Program

EEG Neuro Feedback as a Non-Medication Treatment for ADHD. Dr. Tansey will present actual results obtained from treating those children and adults who came for treatment following his talk in January. He will present the science and techniques used, presenting and explaining the actual training screens used, and how sessions are conducted. Most importantly, he will present the actual results and changes in ADHD, attention, racing mind, reading skills and math skills with changes in the EEG data.

The Many Ways to Relieve Tension, May 30

As life gets more and more hectic, the tension it produces is stored in our bodies, building to unhealthy levels. Something's got to give...but before that happens, applying the time proven methods of yoga, deep breathing, and massage may help us achieve the control we need.

Join Janet Long, a community Yoga Instructor, for an initial discussion providing basic instruction utilizing these techniques.

Daphne Wilder is the loving mother of three very different daughters: stable Maggie, irreverent Mae, and the youngest, insecure Milly. Milly tends to attract psychos, so Daphne decides to set her up with Mr. Right by taking out a personal ad in her name. All three daughters help Daphne understand that she is dealing with their romantic lives to keep from facing her own in this family dramedy.
