A Green Map plots the locations of a community's natural, cultural and sustainable resources.

Join the Hillsborough Public Library in collaboration with BoroGreen to map green initiatives in our region such as farm locations, green businesses, parks, and trails. One goal is to help create a regional bike corridor from Hillsborough through Montgomery, Princeton, and ending in Lawrence Township. Through a Dodge Foundation grant and Sustainable Jersey, these 4 towns have sent representatives to learn how to create Green Maps http://www.greenmap.org/ and are now joining forces so that cyclists can bicycle locally more easily.

Johnson, a Geraldine Dodge Foundation Poet, will read selections of his poetry in the West Wing. He has recently published his third poetry collection, 'Smoke Signals' and won a 2007 Paterson Poetry Prize Award for Literary Excellence for his collection 'Sam's Place' and was a 2004 Paterson Poetry finalist for his book 'Tunnel Vision'. He has also had his poetry published in a variety of literary journals and newspapers. Charles, a resident of Hillsborough, will answer your questions after his presentation.

Seasons is a sibling harp and hammered dulcimer trio who will bring us to another place and time with their beautiful sounds. They each play piano and percussion and range in age from seventeen to twenty-two. Seasons has been playing professionally and as a ministry for about seven years. They will be performing many holiday classics and selections from their CD Which Way to Dublin Town.

Keith Monacchio was raised on American rock and roll and roots music. He has already earned accolades such as being called "one of the best songwriters in New Jersey" by Gary Wien of AsburyMusic.com. Whether deep into traditional country territory, tender ballads or the dusty southern porches of the Smoky Mountains, Keith paints stark pictures with intuition and feel, and he goes where the listener needs him to be.

Kim Yarson has been writing songs since 1994, and has been trained by some of Nashville's top hit songwriters through Nashville Songwriters Association International workshops over the years. "I write and sing songs to paint hope with one foot here on earth and one in heaven."

Jo Wymer, Freehold's best kept secret, has been named one of the 100 women of blues guitar by Guitarwoman.com. She has been selected as a finalist in several national songwriting and band competitions. Have a good story to tell? In celebration of National Library Week, come join us at the Hillsborough Public Library at 7pm on Tuesday, April 13 for a storytelling competition and share your tale with our community. Story themes should focus on a family legend, a best or worst birthday celebration or vacation, or the misfortune of breaking a bone. Category prizes will be awarded. This is a family oriented event with storytellers from 5th grade up through the generations.

Get in touch with your inner self by learning the techniques of Journal Keeping which can be healthy physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Inspirational writing will be practiced during the program.

Presented by Kim Leatherdale A.T.R., L.P.C. who has had speaking engagements with a wide range of organizations on a variety of healthy living topics. She has written for multiple newspapers and newsletters including The New York Times and New Jersey Monthly.

Join us Wednesdays February 17 & 24 at the Hillsborough Library for a Pilates class, with Beth Frommer, a certified personal trainer and pilates instructor who has been teaching the Pilates Method for 9 years.

Pilates is a low-impact exercise. Anyone can do it, and the benefits are endless. Pliates can help your flexibility, develop long, lean strong muscles, flatten the stomach, strengthen the back, and improve posture. The classes are fun and challenging. Everyone always feels stronger, taller, more energetic and confident when they finish a session.
