The Joy of the Holidays, December 11

Join us at the Hillsborough Library for a program on The Joy of the Holidays, with Rick Busciglio. Celebrate the December holiday season of Christmas and Chanukah with international lecturer and master storyteller Rick Busciglio, who returns to present the story of the origins of our now traditional holiday customs.
Plus seasonal music of the 40's and 50's via original recordings of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney and many more favorites. It will be a time for good cheer!

Karen Zumbrun Jazz Trio, August 21

Join us for the next installment of Hillsborough Library's Evenings in the West Wing, featuring the Karen Zumbrunn Jazz Trio. Relax to the quiet sounds of Dr. Karen Zumbrunn and her trio as they play standards, blues, and bossa novas. Enjoy the strains of Cole Porter, the Beatles, Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others.

Dr. Karen Fanta Zumbrunn bridges the academic and jazz performance worlds of music. She studied at the Sorbonne and "'Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, France, and payed at the Blue Note. She worked with well-known European and American musicians and recorded with the "International Stars of Jazz" in Rome. Currently, 2 of her CDs are available at the library: Snowfall and Twilight World.

Harpist Jean Farnworth, July 9

Join us at the Hillsborough Public Library for a relaxing evening of beautiful music with harpist Jean Farnworth. Professional guitarist, harpist, and vocalist Farnworth performs a diverse repertoire of traditional Irish tunes, Jazz, Bluegrass, and Medieval/Renaissance music at both small gatherings and large public gatherings.

Her diverse musical background has enabled her to develop a unique style of what she calls "niche music". She performs at small theme events such as Renaissance weddings, Colonial fund-raisers, and Victorian-era tea parties.
