Genealogy, October 9, 2012, at 7PM

Regina Hoag will present a brief introduction to online tools, such as Ancestry.com and Genealogy Bank, that can be used at the library to research your family history. She will demonstrate how to create a family tree on Ancestry.com and provide some tips on how to find information online when ancestry information seems to hit a dead end. Regina will also share examples of some of  the surprising discoveries, long lost family and some startling family history that she has encountered in her research.

Les Paul & Mary Ford Tribute, October 5, 2012, at 7PM

Come and join us in The Library After Dark as Tom Doyle and Sandy Cory perform a tribute to the great Les Paul and Mary Ford.  Tom, a Master Guitar Builder and sound performance engineer/guitarist for Les Paul for over 40 years, will also captivate us with stories of those years working with Les Paul as well as other legendary musicians such as Al Dimeola, George Benson , Tommy Emanuel and Sting.

On September 11, 1776, Continental Congress representatives Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Edward Rutledge met with the King's representative,  Lord Richard Howe to negotiate terms of independence. No reconcilliation was reached and both the colonists and the Crown faced the inevitability of war.

Donald Johnstone Peck, author, historian, speaker and long-time preservationist will lead us in unpacking the fascinating dimensions of our rich Revolutionary War history.
