William Diehl, Author, 1924-2006

Best-selling author William Diehl died this week at the age of 81. A World War II veteran, photographer, and journalist, he did not begin writing novels until the age of 50.

He completed 9 novels in his life, and had nearly completed a tenth. Diehl was best know for his novels Sharky's Machine and Primal Fear, which were both made into movies, starring Burt Reynolds and Richard Gere, respectively.

The Somerset County Library System owns all of his books.
