Life at an Edwardian Manor, December 3, 2013, at 6:30pm
The popular TV series, 'Downton Abbey', has renewed an interest in the Edwardian Era. Wealthy aristocrats owned huge manor houses, and reveled in extravagancies. It was also a time of great disparity between the haves and the have-nots. As a reaction to the Victorian Era, the Golden Age was followed by a time of greater social mobility. Join us as historian Judith Krall-Russo will will enlighten us about this fascinating time and the people who lived in it. Though you don't have to be a Downton Abbey fan to enjoy this program, devoted fans may take more notice of certain details in the show after attending. Light refreshments will be served.
