Did you know that the Delaware & Raritan Canal was one of our nation's most successful towpath canals carrying more tonnage in 1866 than the more famous Erie Canal? Built in the 1830's, the Delaware and Raritan is a rich source of New Jersey history.
Canal author and historian, Linda Barth, will introduce you to the people, the bridges, the locks, and the aqueducts that made the canal work.
Adults and young adults welcome. Please visit the History of the Delaware & Raritan Canal Exhibit in the library during the month of November.
Registration for this program is required, and there is no cost to attend. To register, stop by or call the Adult Services Desk at 908-369-2200 ext 13. Registration can also be done using the online library calendar.
